TEMPORARY LOYALTY, 2015
These monotype prints were created in response to a cross-cultural interaction in Massenguelani, Gabon in May of 2015.
I spent ten days living in a rural village where my relationship with a six-year-old boy named Madungu inspired me to question my place in his world and his place in mine. Our interaction was very real, and, yet, we may never meet again.
I found Madungu's stature to be both childlike and regal and hoped to capture his essence through my stencils and technique.
